Rebecca Kahn: I live in a big yellow house, up on a hill, in a neighbourhood that some people say is on the wrong side of the tracks in Johannesburg, South Africa. My house is in the shadow of a huge transmission tower, which will crush me if it falls over, and is almost certainly doing funny things to my body.
I believe in messy, buggy, chaotically beautiful gardens and disordered bookshelves.

Vivienne Hambly: I grew up in the countryside in South Africa where, during the holidays, after you’d read all the books in the village library, there was nothing to do but climb trees, play on the compost heap and chase mousebirds. Now I live in London and look forward to having my own tumbledown garden one day.

You guys rock! “I write about gardens and gardening for a big magazine” in Auckland. “A lot of the time I sit behind a desk making sure other people write about gardens and gardening for a big magazine”! Great to see you out and about walking the walk, or digging the dig as the case may be, Ms Vivh!
Hey! I think you might be our first Antipodean visitor – certainly the first Antipodean to comment. Thanks for the note and for visiting our blog, Kerry. Its great to hear from you.
What’s the Antipodes of Durbs or Brixton? Alaska?

Do South Effricans eat biscuits?
I bet they do.
Would you both be kind and lovely and write a guest post for this new Blog that Mark Diacono (of Otter Farm) and I have set up?
This one http://biscuitencounters.wordpress.com/
Please.
The biscuit angle can be either central or peripheral.
